Corpus Christi is a coastal city in the South Texas region of the U.S. state of Texas and the county seat and largest city of Nueces County, it also extends into Aransas, Kleberg, and San Patricio Counties. It is 130 miles southeast of San Antonio. Its political boundaries encompass Nueces Bay and Corpus Christi Bay. Its zoned boundaries include small land parcels or water inlets of three neighboring counties.
The city's population was estimated to be 326,586 in 2019, making it the eighth-most populous city in Texas. The Corpus Christi metropolitan area had an estimated population of 442,600. It is also the hub of the six-county Corpus Christi-Kingsville Combined Statistical Area, with a 2013 estimated population of 516,793. The Port of Corpus Christi is the fifth-largest in the United States. The region is served by the Corpus Christi International Airport.

Corpus Christi

Calallen is a district in the US city of Corpus Christi, Texas. It is located in the northwest part of the city. It is located in Nueces County, in the Coastal Bend. It is bound to the north by the Nueces River, which also marks the boundary between Nueces County and San Patricio County. It is also commonly known as Five Points. Calallen has a population of 27,087. 12,998 residents are male, while 14,089 are women.
Calallen, on Interstate Highway 37 in extreme north central Nueces County, was once an independent town but is now part of Corpus Christi. It was named for Calvin Allen, who donated land for the St. Louis, Brownsville and Mexico Railway. A nearby Nueces River dam is named Calallen Dam. The Calallen community received a post office in 1908 with Ira D. Magee as the first postmaster. The post office was discontinued sometime after 1960. In 1914 the town had 150 residents and nine businesses. Its population dwindled to twenty-five by 1925 but reached 100 in 1939; it was 270 by 1965. By 1966 Corpus Christi had annexed Calallen.
Calallen is home to a major intersection point between&nbsp;Interstate 37&nbsp;and&nbsp;U.S. Highway 77. Southbound Interstate 37 leads approximately 15 miles (24&nbsp;km) into downtown&nbsp;Corpus Christi, while southbound U.S. Highway 77 leads 28 miles (45&nbsp;km) to&nbsp;Kingsville, and eventually, 148 miles (238&nbsp;km) south to&nbsp;Brownsville, in the&nbsp;Rio Grande Valley. U.S. Highway 77 is one of the two U.S. highways, along with&nbsp;U.S. Highway 281&nbsp;in&nbsp;Three Rivers, that provides direct access to the Rio Grande Valley from Interstate 37. Despite Calallen being part of the city of Corpus Christi, many northbound U.S Highway 77 vehicles seeking the main city body would've turned eastward at&nbsp;Texas State Highway 44&nbsp;in&nbsp;Robstown, as this is a shorter and faster route compared to turning eastward at Interstate 37. Northbound U.S Highway 77 vehicles seeking&nbsp;Padre Island&nbsp;and Corpus Christi's southeast suburbs would also rather take FM 665 eastward at&nbsp;Driscoll.

Port Aransas is a city in Nueces County, Texas, United States. This city is 180 miles southeast of San Antonio. The population was 3,480 at the 2010 census. Port Aransas is the only established town on Mustang Island. It is located north of Padre Island and is one of the longest barrier islands along the Texas coast. Corpus Christi Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, the Lydia Ann Ship Channel and the Corpus Christi Ship Channel make up the surrounding waters.

Portland is a city in Nueces and San Patricio counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 15,099 at the 2010 census. The current local population estimate is 17,268.
Portland is located at 27&deg;52&prime;59&Prime;N 97&deg;19&prime;14&Prime;W (27.883117, -97.320466). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.6 square miles (24.9 km2), of which 7.0 square miles (18.1 km2) is land and 2.6 square miles (6.8 km2) (27.44%) is water. The city is roughly equidistant from Portland, Maine, and Portland, Oregon. In 2014 and 2015, the city annexed an additional 1.27 square miles bringing the total area to 10.87 square miles.

Aransas Pass is a city in Aransas, Nueces, and San Patricio Counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 8,204 at the 2010 Census.
Aransas Pass is located at&nbsp;27&deg;54&prime;N&nbsp;97&deg;8&prime;W&nbsp;(27.9019, -97.1395),F[7]&nbsp;on the shore of&nbsp;Redfish Bay, a tidal water body between&nbsp;Corpus Christi Bay&nbsp;to the south and&nbsp;Aransas Bay&nbsp;to the north. The city limits of Aransas Pass encompass most of Redfish Bay and its islands, most of which are in Nueces County, as well a portion of Aransas Bay in Aransas County. The land portion of the city is primarily in San Patricio County, extending north into Aransas County. The city is on the mainland of Texas and is connected to&nbsp;Mustang Island&nbsp;(which contains the city of&nbsp;Port Aransas) by a 6-mile (9.7&nbsp;km)-long causeway, and a free&nbsp;ferry&nbsp;that carries vehicles to the island. By&nbsp;Texas State Highway 35&nbsp;and&nbsp;U.S. Route 181, Aransas Pass is 20&nbsp;mi (32&nbsp;km) northeast of&nbsp;Corpus Christi.
As of the&nbsp;census&nbsp;of 2000, 8,138 people, 3,075 households, and 3,012 families resided in the city. The&nbsp;population density&nbsp;was 758.1 people per square mile (292.6/km2). The 3,493 housing units averaged 325.4 per mi2&nbsp;(125.6/km2). The&nbsp;racial makeup of the city was 80.58% White, 3.44% African American, 0.76% Native American, 0.45% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 11.28% from other races, and 3.47% from two or more races. Hispanics of any race were 37.70% of the population. Of the 2,961 households, 34.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.1% were&nbsp;married couples&nbsp;living together, 13.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% were not families. About 23.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.70 and the average family size was 3.17.
